This story starts with John, quite some time ago (we won't say how long, because we don't want John to feel old!), who started his career as a plumber before moving into the water softener industry to work for his father, Bill.
After many years of success it was time for Bill to sell up and for John to go it alone. In 1999 John founded our sister company, Atlantis Water Treatment Ltd. Atlantis went from strength to strength and is still a well renowned company within the water treatment sector.
In 2010 Steve knocked on the door of Atlantis looking for work. Steve was a young plumber who had just completed a 4 year plumbing apprenticeship. John took a chance and employed Steve as a service engineer and it was one of the best decisions John ever made (if I do say so myself!). Over the years Steve was given more and more responsibility and, alongside Mark, helped Atlantis to grow.
John, Steve and Mark agreed that the business model adopted by Atlantis and most other water softener companies was brilliant, but not right for everyone. So, the idea to setup a company that was online only, direct to consumer, affordable, but didn't compromise on quality, was put into action and in 2017 SoftenerGeeks was born!
So, we are 9 years in and have literally sold 1000's of water softeners to happy customers across the UK. Things have changed a little since 2017, John retiring has been the biggest change, but we're still going, still looking for new products and still offering the same 5* service that our customers have become accustomed to.
