Today I wanted to write a bit more of a fun blog that was also super geeky. So, I have decided to share some of my favourite facts about water. Some you will know already I'm sure, but hopefully a few will surprise you!
- The water you drink today contains the exact same molecules that the Dinosaurs drank.
- Water can exist in three states; solid, liquid and gas. It is the only natural substance that can do so.
- A tap that drips at a rate of once per second will waste approximately 11,000 litres of water in a year.
- Our brains are approximately 70% water.
- A Jellyfish is about 95% water, very similar to a cucumber.
- Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid, including Sulfuric acid.
- Only 1% of the earths water is available for human consumption.
- Since it was created, the Earth has always contained the same amount of water.
- The water in the Atlantic Ocean contains more salt than that in the Pacific Ocean.
- Only about 3% of water used in an average home is used as drinking water.
- Over 10,000 litres of water is used to produce just one pair of jeans.
